Frequently Asked Dental Questions
Dental insurance
Do you accept my dental insurance?
We accept most dental insurances. Give Pat a call, she can answer any question you may have about your plans benefits. She is an expert on maximizing your benefits so you get all you can from your plan.
What if I do not have dental insurance?
Insurance is only one way to help you get the dentistry you want. We offer many types of financing to help make your dentistry affordable, or you can pay as you go. Call Pat and ask for the details.
Hygiene
My insurance pays for 2 cleanings a year, is that too often?
NO. Most of our patients have learned to take good care of themselves at home and so 2x a year cleanings are OK. But if your gums are sick (gum disease), or you have systemic illness like heart disease or diabetes you may need to have your teeth cleaned more often.
Orthodontics
When should I start braces for my son?
Dr.G evaluates children for proper growth and development as soon as they become part of his family of patients. Some kids need to have some help with the growth of there jaws which we call orthopedics. If so we can start as early as 6 or 7.
Usually we begin ortodontics around age 12 or 13. Dr.G warns: Don't wait that long for an evaluation, sometimes at age 13 it's too late to correct an underdeveloped jaw.
Smile Makeovers
Can you straighten teeth without braces?
Yes. Many of our patients want instant braces. Along with our talented artists at Mariner Dental Lab we have been able to straighten, whiten, close gaps, and heighten self-esteem in as little as 3 weeks!
Teeth Whitening
Do you do laser whitening?
We do in-house whitening (commonly refered to as laser whitening) and take-home gels. Ask Dr.G which one may be right for you.
Will whitening work for me?
I have found that just about anyone can get good results from our cutting edge whitening technologies.
